Friday Focus – Macron’s NATO threat and the Online Harms Act
This week’s Friday Focus starts with a conversation about some striking remarks French President Emmanuel Macron made this week about possibly sending NATO troops to Ukraine, which then leads to a spirited debate between Rudyard Griffiths and Janice Stein as to who should foot the bill for European security. The podcast then comes back to Canada to discuss the introduction of the Online Harms Act, a proposed piece of federal legislation which seeks to regulate certain online behaviour and content in an effort to protect vulnerable groups targeted by hate. Also, Rudyard takes a moment to remember the late Brian Mulroney, who died Thursday.
