Aaron R. Hanlon is an associate professor of English and chair of the Science, Technology, and Society Department at Colby College.

His research focuses on two aspects of the British Enlightenment, not always in tandem: political theory and the history and philosophy of science. His first book is A World of Disorderly Notions: Quixote and the Logic of Exceptionalism. He’s now writing a book on science denial. His essays have appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The New Republic, The Washington Post, and others.
