His research focuses on two aspects of the British Enlightenment, not always in tandem: political theory and the history and philosophy of science. His first book is A World of Disorderly Notions: Quixote and the Logic of Exceptionalism. He’s now writing a book on science denial. His essays have appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The New Republic, The Washington Post, and others.
